Show Facts

M83 – “Blister Sunrise” — This brand-new M83 track was selected for Pitchfork’s weekly Pitchfork Selects playlist this month, putting it among the magazine staff’s favorite new releases.
alexsucks – “out the blue” — Released September 10, “out the blue” comes from the new as in progress EP; its looping, repetitive lyrics match the song’s restless, circular feel.
heavy wild – “freeze2death” — Songwriter Wolfgang Harte describes this as a sequel to the earlier heavy wild song “Dope Gods,” dealing with friendships and relationships changing as people grow up and move in different directions.
Magic Wands – “Diamond Rain” — “Diamond Rain” arrived in August as the title track of a new Magic Wands release, continuing the band’s dreamy, darkwave/shoegaze direction.
Boy Harsher – “Tough Luck (When You Don’t Call)” — One of Boy Harsher’s newest tracks, released ahead of their forthcoming album GET MEAN. The official lyric video was actually made using analog gear, rather than a conventional digital lyric-video treatment.
SOFT VEIN – “Another Summer” — SOFT VEIN is a California electronic project, and this song comes from the September 2026 album All We’ve Known of Heaven, tagged by the artist as darkwave, dream pop, electronic and synthpop.
The Black Tones – “Bombs” — Seattle’s Black Tones started as a three-piece blues-punk band in their grandmother’s basement, centered around twin siblings Eva and Cedric Walker; they’ve since expanded into a five-piece. “Bombs” arrived in August ahead of their sophomore album Diamond Ruby Night.
Cellar Messiah – “Sin” — Cellar Messiah are a Leeds, UK psych/shoegaze band, and “Sin” is part of their current run of material alongside the Drenched EP.
NORMANS – “Mexico Unlimited” — NORMANS describe themselves simply as an “LA noise rock band.” “Mexico Unlimited” was released as a single in May and then appeared on their June 2026 album Faust Demonica.
French Police – “SUPER OVER DRIVE” — This is extremely new: it arrived at the end of August as half of the two-song SUPER OVER DRIVE / SILVER single. Brian Flores essentially handled everything — vocals, guitar, bass, drums, synth, programming, production, engineering and mixing.
Regina Collage – “Horizont” — “Horizont” is both the title track and title of Regina Collage’s new 13-song album, released August 21, 2026.
Møtrik – “Flood Tide (Xiu Xiu Remix)” — This one has a great story. Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart says he fell in love with Krautrock/Kosmische Musik after a tour manager played Harmonia in the van in 2012. He calls remixing Portland krautrock band Møtrik a “massive privilege and pleasure.”
POiSON GiRL FRiEND – “Falling” — This is a particularly cool deep cut. POiSON GiRL FRiEND has been releasing music since the early 1990s, but “Falling” appears on her brand-new 2026 covers EP Reprises. She’s also touring North America right now, more than three decades after albums like Melting Moment and Love Me.
dottie – “doll” — Austin artist dottie works in the overlap between shoegaze, dream pop, ambient and experimental music. “doll” is a September 2026 release, following February’s eternal.
